Position Summary:

We are currently seeking an experienced Pediatric Triage Registered Nurse for one of our valued healthcare partners in the Gulfgate area. This is an on-site, full-time role with a high potential for permanent conversion. The ideal candidate will bring clinical expertise, excellent phone-based communication skills, and a compassionate approach to pediatric care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide triage support for pediatric patients and families via phone, ensuring timely, accurate, and empathetic communication
• Assess symptoms, provide medical advice within scope, and determine appropriate level of care
• Start IVs and catheters on pediatric patients when needed
• Coordinate closely with providers and clinical staff to support efficient patient flow
• Manage high call volumes while multitasking with clinical and administrative duties
• Document all interactions in Epic (EMR) in real time
• Act as a key clinical resource and liaison for families navigating pediatric care

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in the state of Texas
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience, including triage
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record system
• Experience with insurance authorizations preferred
• Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, time management, and multitasking abilities
• Clear, compassionate communicator — especially over the phone

Work Environment:

• This role is 100% on-site, Monday through Friday
• Free parking available
• Scrubs may be any color
• Will be the only RN dedicated to Pediatrics at the site, collaborating with RNs in Internal and Family Medicine
• Clinic sees 50+ pediatric patients daily, requiring a high level of organization and empathy
• Reports directly to the Clinic Manager
