Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate per-diem PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinical team. This role is key in supporting patient recovery after surgical procedures and ensuring patient safety and comfort. The ideal candidate has a strong background in post-anesthesia care, is detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement all physician orders and provide continuity and quality of nursing care
  • Continually assess patients' conditions and respond promptly to clinical needs
  • Monitor patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation
  • Assist physicians with procedures using conscious sedation and sterile technique
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient and family readiness for discharge
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times

Required Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across surgical teams
  • Sound clinical judgment and patient care planning skills
  • Comfortable managing complexity in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of the perioperative process, including surgical procedures and anesthesia implications
  • Proficient in telemetry and current post-anesthesia assessment practices

Required Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Active RN license in the state of Texas
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in PACU or ICU settings
  • Familiarity with ambulatory surgery center (ASC) workflows is a plus
  • Prior OR exposure beneficial but not required
